Halloween Hand-Loaf | MEATER

Meatloaf, but make it creepy! This Halloween hand-loaf is exactly what you need to make a fun meal for your kids or bring to a creepy potluck. It tastes delicious, it’s easy to make, and takes less than an hour from start to finish. You can even play around with the shape and make it a monster feet-loaf instead.

Equipment:

  • MEATER Plus
  • Large bowl
  • Grill or oven
  • Aluminum pan
  • Pastry brush
  • Serving platter

Time:

  • Prep time: 15 mins
  • Cook time: 35 mins

Doneness:

  • 160°F (71°C)

Ingredients:

Meatloaf Mix

  • 3 lbs ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon cayenne pepper
  • 2 tablespoons garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon dry mustard
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon pepper
  • 3 large eggs, whisked
  • 1 cup panko crumbs
  • 1/2 onion, minced
  • 2 tablespoon minced garlic or go crazy!
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 3 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

Other Ingredients

  • Onion slivers, for nails
  • Ketchup, blood

Instructions:

1. First step, preheat your grill or oven to 350°F (175°C).

2. Time to make the meatloaf mixture. Take all the ingredients and combine them all together using your hands to mix mix mix. You want to make sure everything is well combined so that you have that flavor all distributed evenly.

3. Now, time for the fun part! Line your pan with some parchment paper. Using your own hand as reference, shape the meat loaf into the shape of a hand on your pan. Let your artistic skills shine.

4. Gotta add those final details to get the full effect. Slice up some onion slivers into the shape of nails and place them on the fingertips of the meatloaf. Drizzle some ketchup all over the hand-loaf and evenly brush it on.

5. Probe time! Insert the probe into the thickest part of your hand-loaf. Don’t stab your own hand! Set up your cook using the meatloaf option with the internal temperature of 160°F (71°C). Place it on the grill or into the oven and let it cook.

6. Once your MEATER app alerts you, remove the meatloaf from the heat and let it rest. Wait until MEATER tells you it’s done before digging in.

7. Transfer it to a serving platter and make it extra creepy by adding on some more ketchup or even BBQ sauce for blood. Dig into that zombie flesh!
