Jalapeño Popper Pork Chops

Grilling season is upon us, and that means it’s time to take your dinners outdoors! Get the grill (and your mouth) fired up with these Jalapeno Popper Pork Chops.

Instructions

In a small bowl, whisk together ¼ cup salsa verde, 2 tbsp olive oil, 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp black pepper, and 2 tsp garlic powder for the marinade.

Place the pork chops in the marinade and toss to coat.  Cover with plastic and marinate at least 30 minutes, but we recommend marinating them overnight.

In a separate medium bowl, combine 8 oz of cream cheese (softened and cubed), ⅓ cup shredded cheddar cheese, ⅓ cup salsa verde, and ½ of a jalapeno pepper that has been diced. Mash together all of the ingredients with a fork, cover with plastic wrap, and set aside.

Preheat your grill to 450°F/230°C. When you’re ready to cook, remove the MEATER probe from its charging dock. Insert the probe into the center of the thickest cut of the pork chop, being sure to insert past the safety notch.

Next, set up your cook using the MEATER app! Under guided cooks, select pork and then select chop. We recommend cooking them to 145°F/63°C.

You’re ready to go! Start the cook and place your pork chops on the preheated grill. Try and flip them halfway through the cook cycle to ensure even cooking.

With 5 minutes remaining on your cook, place a heaping spoonful of the cream cheese mixture on each our your pork chops.

Be sure and have fun with your toppings. We added extra shredded cheddar cheese, extra jalapeno peppers, and some bacon to our chops!

Remove from heat when MEATER alerts you, being sure to rest the pork chops on a cool, clean surface to prevent overcooking.

When MEATER alerts you that your pork chops are ready to eat, carefully remove the probes and serve.

Bon appetit!
